MARC (Machine-Readable Cataloging) is the international standard for library catalog records. MARC21 is the current version used by libraries worldwide.

This tool parses MARCXML (XML representation of MARC21). Binary MARC (.mrc) files need conversion to MARCXML first.

All MARC fields: control fields (001-009), data fields with indicators and subfields. Common fields: 100 (author), 245 (title), 260/264 (publisher), 020 (ISBN).

Each subfield is extracted with its code (a, b, c, etc.) and value. Subfields become an array of {code, value} objects.
