The tool uses Tesseract.js OCR to extract text from receipt images. It then parses the text to identify merchant names, dates, line items with prices, subtotals, tax amounts, and totals.

No. All OCR and data extraction happens locally in your browser. Your receipt images and data never leave your device, ensuring complete privacy.

Use high-resolution images with good lighting and contrast. Flatten the receipt and avoid shadows. Crop the image to show just the receipt. Clean receipts scan better than faded ones.

Yes. All extracted data appears in an editable table. You can correct any OCR errors, add missing items, or adjust prices before exporting.

You can export to CSV (opens in Excel, Google Sheets) or XLSX (native Excel format). Both formats preserve all extracted data including merchant, date, items, and totals.

The OCR engine (about 15MB) downloads once on first use and is cached. All subsequent scans are much faster.

The tool supports English receipts by default. The OCR can recognize text in other languages, but the parsing logic is optimized for English receipt formats.

Currently one receipt at a time. Process each receipt individually, then combine the CSV/Excel exports if needed.

Thermal receipts fade over time. Scan or photograph them as soon as possible. For faded receipts, try adjusting brightness/contrast in a photo editor before scanning.
