Frequently Asked Questions

Inline images are embedded directly in the email HTML using Base64 encoding, eliminating the need for external image hosting. The image data becomes part of the email itself.

Gmail (web/mobile), Apple Mail, Outlook 2019+, Yahoo Mail, and most modern clients support data URIs. Older Outlook versions (2007-2016) have limited support and may need VML fallbacks.

Keep inline images under 50KB for best results. Larger images increase email size significantly (Base64 adds ~33%) and may trigger spam filters or slow loading.

Use inline for small images like logos, icons, or signatures (under 50KB). Use hosted images for large photos or when tracking opens is important. Many emails combine both approaches.

Older Outlook versions (2007-2016) use Word's rendering engine with poor Base64 support. Use the VML format output for better Outlook compatibility, or host images externally.

Large inline images can trigger spam filters. Keep total email size under 100KB including images. Some corporate filters block Base64 content entirely.

PNG for logos and graphics with transparency, JPEG for photos, GIF for simple animations. Avoid WebP and AVIF as email client support is inconsistent.

Add width and max-width styles to your img tag. Use style='width:100%;max-width:300px;height:auto' to make images scale down on mobile while capping their maximum size.

No. Inline Base64 images require HTML email format. Plain text emails cannot display embedded images - only links to external images work.

Yes. All processing happens in your browser using JavaScript. Images are never uploaded to any server. Your data stays completely private on your device.
